Sage Educational Advisors was built on a simple but powerful conviction: getting into the right school matters far more than simply getting in.

Founded by Allyson L. Weaver — a former admissions director with over two decades of experience inside some of the country's most competitive independent schools — Sage exists to give families the insider perspective that makes all the difference. Allyson has sat in the decision-making room. She knows how schools think, what they're looking for, and how to position your child so that the schools that are truly the right fit can see it too.

At Sage, we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every child is distinct — in how they learn, where they thrive, and what they need to grow — and the school search should reflect that. We take the time to understand your family, your child's strengths and learning style, and your priorities, so that every step of the process is intentional, informed, and tailored to you.

We work with families across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia, as well as families navigating the independent school process from anywhere in the country. Whether you're just beginning to explore your options or are deep in the application season, Sage meets you where you are.

Allyson L. Weaver, M.Ed., is the Principal Consultant at Sage Educational Advisors, and chances are, if you're here, you're looking for someone who has sat on both sides of the admissions table and truly understands what it takes to navigate this process with confidence and grace.

For over two decades, Allyson has worked at the heart of independent school admissions — teaching, leading diversity initiatives, and directing admissions divisions at some of the most respected schools in the country. She has guided thousands of students and families through the journey from inquiry to acceptance, and she brings that same depth of experience to every family she serves at Sage.

Allyson's zeal for admissions took root in Chicago, where she served as Director of Admissions for Diversity Outreach and Recruitment (PK–12) at Francis W. Parker School. She went on to Washington, DC, where she led both the Middle and Upper School admissions divisions as a Director of Admissions at Sidwell Friends School — two experiences that shaped her belief that the right school changes everything for a child.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Miami University (Ohio) and a Master of Education from the University of Chicago.

Allyson works with families in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, as well as families across the country,  helping them present their children authentically, engage the process strategically, and arrive at decision day feeling seen and well-prepared.

When she's not in the office, you'll find Allyson at the tennis courts, crossing a triathlon finish line, deep in a historical fiction novel, or crocheting something she may or may not finish. She lives in Washington, DC, with her husband Jason, two amazing bonus children, and Dash — the world's most ambitious 25-pound guard dog.
